Agg 4 Cancelled for Aug 14 & 15

August 14, 2010 at 6:29 am

Sadly, Due to very poor surf conditions Aggregate 4 has been canceled for August 14 and 15.

Aggregate 4 will now be surfed on September 18 (with Sunday 19th Sept as backup).

Don’t forget, if you are in a final from Aggregate 3 you need to be prepared to hit the water early on Saturday 18th Sept as we will be completing the finals from Aggregate 3 before we get into Aggregate 4. A reminder email will be sent to all members closer to the date.

Aggregate 4, 5 and 6 Dates Announced

June 29, 2010 at 10:05 am

For all of those that were there to experience nature in all her glory at Aggregate 3, you’ll know that we still have 6 finals to run. These are currently planned to be run at the beginning of our next aggregate. More information will follow (via email and this webpage) regarding how we plan to do this. As daylight is still slim in August, and considering we have 6 additional heats to run, we will need to get going early. Rest assured, we’ll explain the plan prior to aggregate 4.

Date for our final aggregate events:

Agg 4: 14 AUG 2010 (15 AUG as a backup)

Agg 5: 18 SEP 2010 (19 SEP as a backup)

Agg 6: 9 OCT 2010 (10 OCT as backup)

Finally, a big thanks to all those that helped packed after the weather carnage played havoc with our tents etc. We couldn’t have got it all together without the support of club members – so to those that chipped in and pushed on through the rain, a massive thanks. And no doubt Col has had a tough time sorting through it all – thanks heaps Col.

Aggregate 3 (again) this Saturday 5th June

June 1, 2010 at 9:48 am

Well Huey didn’t cooperate on either Saturday or Sunday last week so we’ve gone and got the permits (yep, we’ve got to do this each time we want to have an event) and we’re going to try again this Saturday.

Same plan as usual, meet at Jan Juc at 7:30am

For those that are traveling you can call the TBC phone on 0407 262 722 from 7am to listen to a message which will be the call.

At this stage the forecast looks OK – so keep your fingers crossed.

Aggregate 2 2010 Complete

May 3, 2010 at 8:59 pm

What a day Saturday eh? We were able to run our second aggregate for the year in really good 2+ ft Jan Juc. The tide challenged a few heats during the day, and second bank had a few floaters in it, but all and all it was a huge success. With over 100 entries, this was the biggest TBC aggregate in living memory – a huge thanks to all our members new and old for getting involved.

The Open division was won by an inform Jack Perry, with new TBC recruit Mitch Baker (fresh from Phillip Island) coming a close second. In the Open Womens division we saw the return of Amy Stewart who convincingly won the day from super grommet Zoe Clarke. For all results checkout Season 2010.

A big thanks to all that chipped in during the day – it was a massive effort. Congrats to Marty Hammer who was nominated best club person on the day – yewwww.

See you all for our next aggregate on May 29, 2010.

2010 Easter Raffle Winner

April 19, 2010 at 10:05 am

As you can see our super-stoked Easter Raffle winner – mega happy and amping on getting it into the water.

The Easter raffle was a great success for the club this year, raising much needed funds to keep the club going in 2010 and beyond.

As always, there is a list of thank you’s to the people who really make this a success:

- Ross Slaven – shaping the board
- Russell Graham – glassing
- Elliot Mann – chasing up the signatures
- Kingo – for printing up some TBC board logos
- All club members who gave up a piece of their Easter and helped out selling tickets.

A huge thanks from all at TBC!!

Aggregate 1 2010 Complete

March 21, 2010 at 12:50 am

For TBC aggregate 1, 2010, we were blessed with a 2+ft swell and a Jan Juc bank that held during all tides (almost unbelievably).

A huge turnout of old and new TBC members greeted the cliffs at Jan Juc at 7:30am on Saturday 13th March. Members pitched in and we got set-up pretty quickly. As always we  encourage all members to get involved and help set-up as much as they can. We are always grateful for any help setting up, so just get involved, ask what needs to be done and someone will point you in the right direction. Usually the best waves are first thing so we are always keen to setup and get underway. And this was most important on Saturday as with the massive turnout, we had to double bank for the majority of the day. A big thanks to all the judges who put in during the day – a massive effort.

The day was topped off with presentation being held at the TBC clubhouse (aka Jan Juc Cricket Club). Members enjoyed a drink, chat and a hand-clap as the results for all finals were revealed.

Apologies to the U16 Boys – the tally sheets were a bit short on information, and with the whiteboard being cleaned off during the day it was impossible to put the puzzle together with any accuracy. Thanks to the guys who emailed the club and set us straight, and sorry to guys who we missed. Things are sorted now but there could possible be some errors in the results of round 1 (specifically 3rd and 4th in R1 H3). Please email the club if we have it wrong.

Check some photos from the day and presentation in the TBC Gallery courtesy of Timmy Wright.

Lookout for aggregate 2 to be held on May 1st with aggregate 3 planned for May 29.

February 17, 2010 at 8:07 am

Just in case your not checking the Event Calendar (on your right), we will be running Aggregate 1 on 13th March. Fingers crossed that we have some contestable waves and we can start the 2010 season with a bang.

See you all there:

We will send out an email to all members once we get all the administration online.

Don’t forget, no PAID membership means no club insurance which means ‘no surf for you’. Sadly, that’s the rules.
